In Kurdistan there are two types of people. Type one sit and complain, all day, everyday blaming every issue in Kurdistan on everyone except themselves. These also are the type that sometimes throw rubbish from their car windows, don’t obey traffic laws and find it okay to spoke indoors while their kids are sitting half a meter away.
Then there are those who also complain and criticize, but they stand up, work hard and do what they can in their own surrounding to change something. They’re the ones who save a kitten who has just been run over by a reckless driver, or the ones who dedicate a few hours in their week for cancer patients, orphans, or for that matter cleaning up and raising awareness.
Ranj and Lazha Kurda are a couple who I truly admire, from far. They have campaign this weekend which is open to the public. You go out in a big group and start cleaning, during this awareness is raised and you feel like you’re doing your part when it comes to the cleanliness of our beautiful nature. This same couple do so much to help animals in Kurdistan!
I truly admire those who take a step and attempt to make a change. Not everyone has the power to change the world over night, as much as we all love to, but we all have the power to change our surroundings. We can’t expect a change if we don’t act first. So many people on my Facebook have complained about leaving picnic residue, or hurting animals, yet Ranj, Lazha and only a few others have stood up and taken action. You’ve got to love citizens like these!
